  • About Out in Tech

    The technology industry is growing faster in New York City than anywhere else in America, trailing only Silicon Valley as a hub for today’s most inspiring technology developments.

    As NY’s digital scene blossoms with LGBT tech enthusiasts, so too does the need for a community that can connect all areas of the sector – from big company to small start-up, from finance to fashion – in a casual and meaningful way.

    Out in Tech is a quarterly social aimed at cultivating NYC’s LGBT tech sector community. We’re uniting the NY tech industry together, one inspiring connection (and tech-tini) at a time.

  • How it started

    Last year, a group of friends realized that most traditional NYC industries have an LGBT affinity social, except for us in the tech space. Continued discussion on the concept made it clear that NYC needed a way to connect all corners of the LGBT tech community. After months of thoughtful planning and discussion, Out in Tech was created with help from Arthur Woods, Christian Schoenherr, Frank Jania, Peter Elbaor, and Julio G. Alvarez.

    Organizations across all sectors are supporting Out in Tech in our effort to grow and unite the LGBT tech community. The list is exciting…and we’re just getting started!
