The Out in Tech London chapter hosts its first event of 2018 at LinkedIn, exploring how we use social media to express our identities.

The proliferation of social media platforms has altered how we share moments of our lives, interact with others—even how we participate in a democracy. Our ability to spread our ideas and influence others has never been greater, and our responsibility to use that power wisely has grown just as great.

Whether on YouTube to extol causes we care about, on Twitter to lobby politicians, on LinkedIn to help build our careers, or on Facebook to build a community, the power to express ourselves and influence others is at our fingertips. Join us as we explore this exciting topic with a group of influencers at some of the biggest networks.

The panel will be moderated by Mike Buonaiuto, Executive Director of Shape History. Panellists will include:

Chaka Bachmann, Senior Researcher, Stonewall

Annie Gregory, Content and Social Media Lead, Skrill (Paysafe Group)

Riyadh Khalaf, YouTube Content Creator and BBC Television Presenter
