Director of Partnerships, Out in Tech
Reports to Executive Director
We are hiring an entrepreneurial leader to take our organization to the next level. Our Director of Partnerships will lead Out in Tech’s corporate council, partner engagement, and contribute to key decisions about revenue strategy and growth of the largest non-profit LGBTQ+ tech community in the world.
About Out in Tech
Our mission is to unite the LGBTQ+ tech community through thought-provoking content and impactful volunteer opportunities. We design our experiences around making tech more inclusive and representative of groups historically barred from the world’s most influential careers—whether they identify as queer, female, trans, Black, Latinx, or any intersection thereof. We expect those working with us to care about this, too.
We’re building a global community because we believe a tech industry that is inclusive of LGBTQ+ people will inevitably lead to equitable workplaces, innovative new ideas, and a more just future. Our approach is to build the confidence and credentials of LGBTQ+ folks to unleash a turbo-charged new wave of queer tech talent. Founded in 2013 in NYC, today we have 16 chapters in 4 countries, with 40,000+ members. We’re building a diverse, intersectional membership as we scale to ensure that Black and Latinx folks are centered in our mission.
About the role
Out in Tech’s goal is to scale its corporate membership and advisory products with intention. The Director of Partnerships will collaborate with the Executive Director and staff to grow revenue-driving programs that have the dual benefit of advancing the mission and supporting impact programs (youth mentorship and global LGBTQ+ civil society). You’ll pitch our value proposition to executives at Fortune 500 companies and innovative startups. You’ll be celebrated for landing new partnerships and sponsorships in pursuit of harmonious goals.
As a key organizational leader, you’ll also take the lead on managing relationships with existing sponsors, growing these relationships over time. As a small team, we all pitch in to deliver high-quality programs and services, and our partners love us for it. Since our first corporate sponsorship just four years ago, we’ve learned a great deal, and we’re also looking to learn from you. You’ll have access to all of the devices (brand new Macbook of your choice), tools (we’re SaaS-y), and professional development to enable you to flourish.
You will likely have: a) worked in tech, startups, or non-profits, b) excelled in partnerships, sales, biz dev, or fundraising, and c) exhibited emotional intelligence to win the trust and respect of a wide range of stakeholders. You’re action-oriented: a) proactive doer who enjoys tracking progress against goals, b) confident communicator who tailors information to their audience, and c) collaborative partner who thrives when working independently.
Is this you?
Please send your resume and a blurb about why you’re interested in the role (<200 words) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our culture attracts those with a commitment to and demonstrated passion for intersectional approaches to social justice, racial justice, and equity. We strongly encourage gender non-binary, gender non-conforming, gender-queer, people of color, transgender people, and women to apply. We work hard and prioritize self-care: unlimited vacation policy, 100% remote work environment, flexible work schedule, health benefit reimbursement.
Out in Tech takes diversity and equal opportunity seriously. We seek to build an inclusive team that reflects the entirety of the LGBTQ+ community because we know that will enable us to do our best work.
